We have a variety of retreat activities to choose from on-site, with indoor & outdoor space, tutors, equipment & resources. During your stay you can try drawing, painting, singing, writing, reading birding, astronomy & music.

Art Retreat

This creative option from our retreat activities, will give you the skills to be able to translate chosen images to drawing & painting with the support of an experienced artist & teacher. Whatever your level, we will start where you are & work towards creating something to be proud of.

You can choose your place to draw & paint from a range of views & quiet seating areas. You can spend as much time as you like during your stay, drawing & painting with the support of our tutor. If you’ve ever longed for support with your writing or need help to find your unique voice, then our writing retreat is for you. More than a workshop or a course, this experience nurtures growth, confidence & self-discovery in a calm, supportive environment.

With a variety of both social spaces & individual hideaways, you can choose how much interaction & support you have during the retreat. The retreat is for beginner & emerging writers. Reading on Retreat

A gentle choice from our retreat activities, which can be mixed with other choices or enjoyed for the length of your stay. Get together with a group of bookworm friends & family & enjoy undisturbed peace. You needn’t do anything but read, eat & drink tea (you can even read while you are eating) & you don’t even need to get dressed.

There is no timetable or expectations & you can spend time alone or with other readers. You can choose from variety of hideaways & quiet seating areas, from a sunny spot with a glorious view to the shade under a canopy of Horse Chestnut leaves to our new summer house with a comfy chair. Guitar Retreat Activity

Guitar

The retreat can be tailored to the level for your group & can focus on the topics most important to you. They can be a mix of tutorials, practical and theory, with the evenings free for players to perform, practice and unwind.

Your retreat can cover both solo playing & playing as a group – we would be delighted to arrange a small performance on your last night, if that is what you would like!
